(Haltom City, TX April 7th, 2011) In 2000 the City of Haltom City joined the Project Safe Place program by designating its three fire stations as safe locations for youth to go in a time of crises; Station 1 at 5525 Broadway Ave., Station 2 at 4900 Waldemar and Station 3 at 4849 NE Loop 820.
Safe Place provides temporary shelter to young people in crisis. They are secure places where any young person in need can walk in and ask for help. The ACH is then contacted and within minutes a volunteer or staff counselor arrives to offer assistance. Safe Place puts distressed children and their families in touch with
resources they need to keep safe and provide support and guidance to the family.
In Tarrant County, Safe Place is operated by the ACH Child and Family Services. Through strength-based partnership ACH brings resources and skills to children and families struggling with life challenges. Together they develop solutions that create safety, hope, love and the capacity to thrive.
The Safe Place goal is to have the Safe Place sign recognized nationally as a symbol of help and safety for any young people who are lost or scared, abused, threatened or in any unsafe situation.

“Until our streets are safe…Until families can understand each other…Until drugs and violence disappear…Until no young person needs to run away or feel afraid…There must be Safe Place.”
