Deputy Chief Joel Thompson has been with Haltom City Fire/Rescue since 1985. He was appointed Deputy Chief of Operations in 2007 by Fire Chief Wes Rhodes.  Joel is also a volunteer firefighter in Mineral Wells, Texas. He and his wife Karen have two children and two granddaughter.
