Deputy Chief Joel Thompson has been with Haltom City Fire/Rescue for 23 years.  He was appointed Deputy Chief of Operations in 2007 by Fire Chief Wes Rhodes.  Joel is also a volunteer firefighter in Mineral Wells, Texas.  He and his wife Karen have two children and one granddaughter.
