4. Persons 16 years of age or younger MUST appear in person with a parent or legal guardian in open court before the Municipal Judge. This is a state law and payment cannot be accepted prior to the court
appearance. You must appear by your due date or risk our license being suspended or withheld.
5. Minors (age 17 and up) charged with an Alcohol or Tobacco Offense must appear in open court.
6. Continuances (resets on court dates) must be requested in person at least one business prior to the scheduled court date and a Motion for Continuance must be completed. The Judge will grant only one continuance automatically. If you missed the court date, the motion for continuance must be completed no later than the next business day by 5PM. in order to prevent a warrant for your arrest.
7. Time to pay must be requested in person. You may be required to complete a financial analysis form. You may get 30 days to pay your violation without seeing the Judge; however, it will be reported as a
conviction on your driving record. If you need longer than 30 days, you will need to see the Judge. A $25 time payment fee must be added to any violation(s) that take longer than 30 days to pay.
8. Community service for violations is only granted by the Municipal Judge if you are found to be indigent. You must complete a packet of information and present the information to the Judge. You may obtain the packet at the court offices during normal business hours.
Please refer to Court Dockets to obtain information about when you can appear before the Municipal Judge.
