Haltom City Animal Services (HCAS)has adopted a new ordinance effective January 25th, 2010. The new animal ordinance implements a city registration program for pet cats and dogs to facilitate the reunification of owners with their pets.
Citizens may voluntarily register their pets with Animal Services by mail, online or at the shelter, located at 5312 Midway Road. Voluntary registration is free, and includes an ID tag that will be mailed out within 10 days of processing your registration.
For animals that are in violation of city ordinances, HCAS will require registration for such pets. Mandatory licensing can only be completed at the shelter, and requires a onetime fee of $10. Replacement tags will be available at the shelter for a $5 fee.
The new ordinance will help Animal Services reunite pets with their owners, while stressing the importance of keeping pets contained to owner’s property or on a leash. Please call HCAS with any questions at 817 759-2124.
Online voluntary form can be filled out and submitted here.
