18-Hole Disc Golf Course
"Frisbee" golf enthusiasts can find a unique amenity to Haltom City’s North Park (located at Denton Highway and NE Loop 820). An 18-hole disc golf course is available for public use at the park.
Disc golf is an inexpensive way for friends and family alike to participate in a competitive, casual sport whose popularity has soared in recent years. Disc golf follows the same concept as traditional golf but is instead played with a disc, which is strategically thrown into baskets located randomly throughout the course.
Haltom City resident Brandon Melton first presented the idea for the course to the Haltom City Parks & Recreation Board. Once he was able to secure sponsorships he installed the course himself.
Recreation Supervisor Christi Pruitt said “the recreation department is excited about bringing this unique sport to Haltom City".
See PDF file of map of the disc golf course at North Park.
